Cars : Krzysztof Holowczyc driving the only non Monster (Drink) colored Mini scored a win on stage 5. Not only he drove fast but gained more than 2 minutes on the overall leader Stephen Peterhansel.
Second was Robbie Gordon. Its a delight to watch the Hummer run fast through the vast deserts of South America. Peterhansel finished third and still is the overall rally leader.

Bikes : The dog fight is growing into an epic battle. Cyril Despres is back riding flawless through the stages. He was precise in his drive and has gained almost 10 minutes on the second placed Marc Coma.
Overall standings are the same with Francisco Lopez riding his Aprillia in 3rd.

Trucks : Dig this – Top 3 drivers are rolling on IVECO’s. No more Kamaz and Tatra domination in Dakar. And leading the force is Dutchman Gerard De Rooy. Hans Stacey and Miki Biasion in the same make of trucks are 2nd and third. Overall standings are in the same order.

Now the rally is moving closer to Chile, it’ll be interesting to see some new terrain where Dakar entourage has never raced.
