The Race : Jenson Button drove better than the Knightrider to come home first in the first F1 race of 2012. Teammate Lewis Hamilton was third split by the Red Bull of defending champ (music) Sebastian Vettel.

You just cannot count the German out ; Post qualifying (where a Lotus was better than the Red Bull), it was pretty much expected to be a normal affair for Mclaren to get home a 1-2. But as they say ‘Red Bull gives you wings’ ; Vettel & to some extent Webber flew very well.

Other highlights of the day included some suave driving by the Flying Finn Kimi Raikkonen. He finished 7th behind F.Alonso (music) and K.Kobayashi in 5th & 6th resp.

Force India finished with the last point (10th Place)

Crash & Retirements : P.Maldonaldo crashed pretty bad in the last lap but has been qualified amongst the finishers (thanks for completing 90% of the race, thats what the rule is)
Schumi was promising only for a gearbox problem to ruin his first race of 2012.

Looking ahead : An awesome season with some RedBull-Mclaren dogfights. Not to discount Ferrari or Mercedes either. These 4 will fight their guns out.
Expect surprises here and there from Lotus and Sahara Force India (without Mallya showing up for races)
Next 8 months are going to sound loud and we cannot wait for the next round in Sepang (25th March)
